Isa - Conclusion

The main difference between the Isa of the Quran and the historical account of Isa in the book of Luke is that Luke portrays Isa as the atoning sacrifice for our sins, crucified on a cross for the remission of all of our sins. A growing number of Muslims hold to this belief because it gives them assurance that they will spend eternity in paradise when they die. This does not change their identity as Muslims. The Quran itself teaches that there is no distinction to be made among the prophets. Surah Al-Baqarah 2:136 reads, "We make no distinction between any of them." We recognize that Surah An-Nisa 4:157 has been interpreted in various ways by Muslim scholars, and we invite our readers to explore this together in dialogue. We should read all of Allah's messengers and pray for discernment.
